About the Ackermans Shop Assistant / Cashier Role (P27)
The primary purpose of the P27 Shop Assistant / Cashier position is to provide customers with an exceptional shopping experience. This is achieved through efficient cashier operations, stock replenishment, merchandising, housekeeping, and friendly customer interaction on the sales floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service Excellence
- Deliver outstanding customer service at all times
- Assist customers in locating products and promotions
- Handle customer queries, requests, and complaints professionally
- Cashier Duties
- Accurately process cash and card transactions
- Handle lay-by payments and customer refunds
- Perform daily till balancing
- Report discrepancies or operational issues to the supervisor
- Merchandising and Stock Management
- Ensure stock is correctly priced and attractively displayed
- Maintain adequate product availability on the sales floor
- Keep the store clean, organised, and well presented
- Stay informed about current promotions and new arrivals
- Risk and Loss Prevention
- Ensure all merchandise is tagged according to company policy
- Participate in regular stock takes
- Identify and report suspicious behaviour, shoplifting, or fraud to management
- Values and Compliance
- Consistently uphold Ackermans’ values, policies, and procedures
- Maintain professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the role
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
To succeed in the Ackermans Shop Assistant / Cashier role, candidates should have:
- Excellent customer service skills
