About the Anglo American Learnership Programme 2025
Anglo American Platinum, a division of the global mining group Anglo American, is now inviting applications for its Engineering Exposure Training Programme as part of the Unemployed (18.2 B1) Learnerships. Successful candidates will be enrolled in a structured, accredited training programme leading to a formal qualification as an Artisan in various engineering disciplines.
This learnership is designed for South African unemployed youth who meet the minimum entry requirements and are eager to learn and grow within a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Available Anglo American Learnership Opportunities for 2025
Anglo American is offering the following artisan learnership positions:
- Learnership – Fitters (x8 positions)
- Learnership – Riggers (x4 positions)
- Learnership – Electricians (x4 positions)
- Learnership – Diesel Mechanics (x2 positions)
- Learnership – Boilermakers (x6 positions)
These roles are aligned with national training standards and are aimed at developing the technical skills required to become qualified tradespeople in the mining and engineering fields.
Minimum Entry Requirements
To be considered for the Anglo American Platinum learnerships, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
Matric/Grade 12
- Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) – minimum 40% pass
- Physical Science – minimum 40% pass
- English – minimum 40% pass
N2 or Higher Qualification
- Completed N2 certificate or higher with the relevant trade-specific subjects
- Must include:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant Trade Theory
- One of the following: Industrial Electronics, Engineering Drawings, or Plating Structural Drawings
NCV Level 4
- Completed NCV Level 4 in a relevant trade
- All subjects passed with a minimum of 40%
Trade Test Preparation Requirements
In order to progress toward a trade test, learners must complete the following subject areas:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant Trade Theory
- Additional Trade-Specific Subjects:
- Industrial Electronics
- Engineering Drawings
- Plating Structural Drawing (as applicable)
These components are critical for learners to become eligible for a final trade test and qualify as an artisan.
