What Is a Learnership?

Unlike traditional academic courses, learnerships focus on hands-on learning, and the duration is based on competency—not time. However, most merSETA learnerships last around 18 months.

The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) is one of the 21 SETAs established under the Skills Development Act to promote skills development across South Africa.

Who Can Apply?
