What is the Eskom YES Programme?
The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a joint initiative between the South African government and private sector, introduced by the Presidency to address the growing challenge of youth unemployment. Eskom, South Africa’s leading electricity utility, has partnered with the YES Programme to offer 12-month work experience opportunities to unemployed youth in line with the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) criteria.

Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the 2025 Eskom YES Programme, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Basic Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Aged between 18 and 34 years old
- Must have Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification
- Post-matric certificates and skills programmes are also accepted

Additional Conditions:
- Must not have been employed permanently for more than 12 months by any single employer
- Must not be studying full-time in the year of employment
- Must not have participated in any previous YES initiative
