About the Plennegy Freight Handling Learnerships 2025
The Plennegy Freight Handling Learnership is an accredited training program that blends theoretical learning with hands-on experience in warehouse and transport operations. Participants will gain essential skills to launch a successful career in the logistics sector.
Key Responsibilities & Training Activities
During this 12-month learnership, candidates will be trained in a variety of practical and theoretical freight handling functions, including:
- Loading and off-loading freight from vehicles
- Preparing delivery vehicles for transportation
- Receiving and dispatching stock
- Handling freight documentation and record keeping
- General warehouse and transport-related duties
- Accurate picking, packing, and stock handling
- Housekeeping and maintaining clean workspaces
- Ensuring safe stacking and securing of cargo
- Collecting and delivering goods efficiently

Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify for the 2025 Freight Handling Learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizen
- Aged between 23 and 35 years
- Minimum Matric (Grade 12), TVET N3, or NQF Level 3
- At least 40% in English and Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Currently unemployed and not enrolled in any other study program
- Reside in the Port Elizabeth area
- Medically fit to perform physical tasks
- Numerate and able to communicate in English (read, write, and speak)
- Willing to work shifts and weekends
- Clean criminal record
- Must have reliable transport
