About the Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership Programme 2027
Valterra Platinum, formerly known as Anglo American Platinum, is inviting applications for its 2027 Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2 Unemployed) at its Amandelbult operations.
The programme combines classroom-based technical training with practical workplace experience, equipping learners with the skills needed to qualify as artisans in various engineering trades.

- Electrician (2 positions)
- Boilermaker (3 positions)
- Mechanical Fitter (4 positions)
- Diesel Mechanic (2 positions)
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic (2 positions)
- Measurement Control & Instrumentation (1 position)
- Auto Electrician (1 position)
- Millwright (2 positions)
- Rigger (2 positions)

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- South African Matric certificate with:
- Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
- Physical Sciences
- English
- Minimum 40% pass in each subject
- N2 Certificate or higher with all four required subjects passed for the chosen trade, including Mathematics and Engineering Science, or
- NCV Level 4 in the relevant engineering trade with a minimum 40% pass in all subjects.
Trade-Specific N2 Subjects
Applicants must also have the relevant trade subjects:
- Boilermaker: Plating/Welders Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings
- Electrician: Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings
- Diesel Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
- Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
- Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
- Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
- Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings or Industrial Electronics
- Rigger: Rigger Trade Theory and Engineering Theory
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
